Las Vegas With Friends Jan 2024
We had an awesome time with friends and family in Las Vegas during January. Just a short recap of how our trip went.
American Airlines from Raleigh Durham Jan 11 arriving in Las Vegas that evening. Mind you weather played a big factor in this trip. Not to mention our luggage did not arrive with us. We received it later that next morning. We were supposed to arrive around 11 am time frame and arrive in the evening. Fast forward a little we stayed at the MGM Grand Casino. This resort has soooooo much to do right there. This is a 3-3.5 star resort with so much to do without leaving the resort. Thursday was just a relaxing evening with food and exploring the resort. We tried the food court at the resort and enjoyed some good ole wings and fries from Nathan's. Friday we ventured out to Fremont Street, better known as Old Vegas. The weather was kinda chilly as we walked around and enjoyed the sites. We had breakfast at this nice quaint restaurant called Binions Cafe. Yes, I would most definitely recommend this cafe the breakfast was great. After spending some time at the Fremont Street area when then decided to go to the Museum of Illusions and yes I would recommend it. We had a great experience there with the many different creative illusions. Then a little more time for the Las Vegas strip. We didn't do any stops just explored and did some sites. We planned to go to the Stratosphere for dinner, but we changed our minds. So we did a local dinner at the Outback Steak House. This was fine for everyone and as usual, the food was really good. Back to the hotel to explore more sites and of course spend some time in the Casino. Saturday we caught a flight out of Vegas to head to Los Angeles. I always wanted to try a Spirit flight and it wasn't bad. The flight from Vegas to Los Angeles was only about 1hr10mins. Once we arrived, rented a car to do some sightseeing. Didn't spend a lot of time in Los Angeles due to our flight times. We were able to walk Hollywood Boulevard, saw the Chinese Theater, Dolby Digital, the only star on a wall Muhammad Ali and of course tons of people. We rode around just a tad and got ready to fly back around 7 pm. Once we arrived back at the resort we were tired at the food court again and prepared for bed. Sunday was our Explore the Canyon day. We rented another vehicle and got ready to hit other areas of Vegas. We drove around the city exploring and then on to the Red Rock Canyons. What beautiful sites of the mountains we saw, some of them breathtaking. We drove around for a few hours exploring all the beautiful mountain sites. We did some more driving around the city of Vegas and then more of the strip. As the night was coming to an end we were preparing for our flight back home. Well, that didn't happen, because it was CANCELED. The flight that we were connecting in Dallas was canceled because of bad weather and maintenance to the plan. Yep one more night in Vegas, thankfully the hotel reinstated our rooms. More casinos and more exploring is just what we did. My husband and I took the time to do more walking to find out so much more about the resort. They even have a Top Golf. When I say this resort is the G.O.A.T it is with so much to offer. The more walking the more hungrier we became. We decided to try one of the many restaurants they had at the resort. Nellie's Southern Kitchen and yes I recommend it, the food was so good. After dinner, we prepared for bed and the next day which was check out. The next day was check out we stayed until 2 pm and moved to the complimentary hotel from American Airlines from the flight cancellation. We sat around at the hotel spending time laughing, talking, creating memories. We decided to go out and get dinner while passing the amazing view of the New Sphere. We ended up at the Wynn resort having dinner at Charlie Sports Bar. This was perfect as there were plenty of big screen tv’s for football fans. Yes I recommend this sports bar also. Beautiful scenery inside the resort. We arrived at the airport and the flight was delayed again. Finally, we flew out about 2:30 am on our way home with a connection in Dallas. Made it home to Raleigh at about noon got my luggage and then hit the highway. We had a wonderful time making memories, which is the most important thing for me. We had a total of six travelers, Vondra, William, Barbara PHIL, Michelle, and Theresa. Why PHIL was in all caps because I haven't laughed so much in a long time. This man was funny as I don't know what and we enjoyed him so much. I am very grateful for being able to put this trip together as a Travel Agent. Even though there were some hiccups we had an awesome time in Las Vegas and Los Angeles!! Until next time thanks for choosing WMV TRAVELS LLC.
